My name is Marcy Pullard. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience. I am a specialist of crisis evaluation and am skilled at working with clients who are interested in short-term, client-centered, solution focused services. My approach to therapy is cognitive-behavioral to the extent that the goal is to help clients realize how their thoughts influence their actions and how irrational and/or illogical thoughts can lead to inappropriate responses to situations. My approach is client-centered in that I believe clients should have a space to share, while I listen and support the client.
I am a realist who helps clients develop coping skills, techniques, resources and social supports that will help them better manage their life. I am gentle, but realistic. I am best described as direct, no-nonsense, a "straight-shooter." I have been told I am funny, which can be helpful even during difficult times, but I don’t “candy coat” the issues.
Our initial session should be considered an introduction, a chance for you to tell me about yourself by responding to some questions I will have, as well as you volunteer information about yourself.
