Marcus Lasota, PhD, Psychologist in Washington
I believe that a genuine strength exists in seeking support in periods of suffering. As a therapist, I consider my role as that of an expert navigator along your journey toward growth, improvement, and symptom relief. It is one of the great privileges of my life to work with individuals as they meet life's challenges, helping them to author new insights, strategies, enrichment, and strength. Through our collaborative work, I believe that lasting change is quite possible.
Since early in my training as a therapist, I have specialized in the treatment of anxiety, with an emphasis on perfectionism. Other areas of clinical interest are depression, self-esteem, relationship concerns, masculinity, and aspects of privilege. My theoretical orientation is an integrative blend of contemporary Cognitive-Behavior Therapy.
Having worked with university students for the majority of my professional life, I have a particular interest and expertise working with adolescents and young adults. However, I am also able to work effectively with individuals from a broad range of ages, demographics, and diagnostic concerns.
