At "Circle Forward" I welcome adults from diverse backgrounds, cultures, experiences, identities & belief systems. I am skilled at supporting people who have been overwhelmed and struggle with "trauma" - unresolved, survival responses (fight, flight, appease & shut down). These natural defensives are essential for dealing with threat. Protective impulses from the past can get stuck & intrude on relationships and on physical, emotional & spiritual rhythms of day-to-day life. I support you to feel safe & allow incomplete survival responses to move slowly & integrate fully. I work online and in Greenfield, MA.
I invite curiosity about the present moment, your physical sensations and assumptions about self & others. Somatic (body) Experiencing supports comfort & connection here/now. Your heart, mind & nervous system can feel safe & discharge excess survival energy. People are able to make sense of the past and engage more fully in life and with each other.
Session are influenced by decades of experience with expressive arts and Buddhist practice and by my own healing, advocacy and leadership in peer support and community building. My practice is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems Therapy.
