Hello. I am a licensed clinical social worker in Boston, MA with over 20 years of experience in both clinical settings and private practice. My style is flexible and includes elements of psychodynamic therapy as well as solution focused techniques and cognitive behavioral therapy. People often find their way to treatment due to a life transition or circumstance in which the usual methods of coping no longer are effective. Finding a connection with a supportive experienced therapist can be invaluable in not only managing the transition but finding greater meaning going forward.
I have experience with individuals struggling with loss - a job, a relationship, a death, empty nest, or retirement. I work with clients struggling with alcohol and substance abuse as well as those who question their alcohol use and fall into the gray area of alcohol consumption and would like to examine this more closely.
Ultimately I believe helping clients identify their feelings and needs in a compassionate environment can be a catalyst for enduring change. My approach is interactive and sometimes directive. I have an MBA and management experience and sometimes use analytical skills to help clients push to get un-stuck with a sense of confidence and empowerment.
