I believe something very powerful happens when a person gives themselves the space to slow down, connect, and be vulnerable. This can result in living more authentically and fully-whether life is smooth or you're surrounded by pain and suffering. I believe emotional healing is possible and desire to help facilitate clients' processes as much as possible. Together we will create and work towards positive, therapeutic goals. I'm grounded in person-centered counseling, which emphasizes empathy, authenticity, and acceptance. I also often utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, Psychodynamic Therapy, and ERP.
Most of my training is with counseling women. Although I have experience with clients struggling with a variety of concerns, my greatest passion is facilitating emotional healing in women with trauma, OCD, and anxiety. I have been trained to use EMDR (Levels 1 and 2), and Brainspotting (L1) therapeutic approaches used to treat PTSD and related concerns.
Additionally, I find it fulfilling to counsel clients from many faith perspectives as I understand this is an important part of many people's lives. I am able to offer counseling from a Christian perspective if a client so desires. Now serving the community as Central Carolina Counseling Associates, PLLC with multiple counselors on staff!
