To me, the best clients are those looking to make changes in their life or get a new perspective on things, are open to feedback, and have a great sense of humor! I tell clients all the time- therapy only works if someone genuinely wants change, and if that fundamental part is true than than no matter how slow progress seems there will always be a path towards success. I strive to be a safe and often fun outlet for clients- sometimes therapy is just about having a neutral third party there to listen to you vent and provide feedback. It doesn't always have to be complicated!
I am a licensed therapist with a master's in Clinical Psychology, and I have been treating adults, adolescents, and their families for over 10 years. Throughout that time, my greatest strength has always been the ability to build a strong therapeutic relationship that relies on mutual understanding, respect, and, most importantly, a great sense of humor.
I realize that finding a therapist can be a challenge. Unlike a medical doctor, you spend hours with a therapist talking about challenging and personal issues. You need someone who you feel comfortable with, can identify with, and feel supported by. I strive to be that person for all of my clients.
