About
I am a cognitive behavioral therapist with experience helping children and adults feel better emotionally, behave more functionally and experience long-lasting change. I specialize in anxiety and depression, and employ a present-oriented, structured therapy that involves problem solving, mindfulness and looking at things from a new, more helpful perspective. I also employ outcome measures so we can closely gauge our progress, without having to make vague estimates. I studied applied psychology at New York University, and went on to receive my Doctor of Psychology at St. John's University where I received intensive CBT training.
I utilize rational emotive behavior therapy techniques to help clients identify, evaluate and challenge automatic, self-defeating thoughts and behaviors. My goal as a practitioner is to help clients figure out what they most want from life (e.g, goals and relationships) and helping them move toward achieving their vision.
I have ample experience working with adults, couples, families and children (I am also a school psychologist). I believe building positive rapport and establishing trust with clients is highly important, and I consider it one of my strengths. I look forward to discussing your short term and long term goals, and developing a plan together.
