Everyday life can be a struggle and sometimes we find ourselves finding ways to sooth or cope with them. I want to work people suffering from addiction (dependency) and address the anxiety and depression symptoms. It is very difficutl to identify character weaknesses in oneself, and asking for help can also be terrifying. Finding someone that you can trust and allowing you to grow and identify and reflect upon these weaknesses can be a challenge. I follow the harm reduction or abstence based models depending on your goals. I use stress reduction techniques, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational enhancement to help you achieve the goals of reduced substance use or abstinence. I provided integrated treatment therefore reducing triggers that co occurring issues can create.
I will work with you to identify continous thoughts and cravings, intrusive thinking, and negative thoughts as well. Cognitive distortions or negative thoughts can be replaced with new ones. This may not be an easy task but with time and therapy it can be achieved. Lapse and relapse is not a failure but a learning experience. Call or email, lets talk.
