Are you burnt out, easily triggered, numb, or overwhelmed? Or maybe you're a people pleaser who struggles with setting boundaries. My ideal client is someone who has been living in survival mode but wants to understand their emotions more deeply so they can manage life more effectively. My clients often feel they have to put on a mask and fake a smile, but on the inside they are in a world of pain that few people, if any, understand. Therapy is a place where that mask can safely come off. I am passionate about helping people improve their ability to cope with their emotional and physical pain so that they can enjoy life more.
I specialize in treating clients with chronic illness, chronic pain, and disabilities. My lived experience with all three gives me an understanding of the trauma that comes from having a medical condition and the healthcare system itself. I also offer a monthly virtual workshop Chronically Ill Conversations for chronically ill adults. Spots still available!
Having medical challenges is lonely and comes with invalidation and discrimination. The grief of not being able-bodied is ongoing, but the rest of the world moves on. I hold space for my clients as they process the grief, guilt, anger, and trauma associated with being chronically ill, in chronic pain, or disabled. As a spoonie, I've been there too.
