I'm Marah Pense, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma who works with clients online via telehealth. In the past 12 years I've worked with children, adolescents, and adults from various cultures and stages of life. I recognize that in some of the most vulnerable and challenging states of life, clients need someone who will listen, provide a safe space, and guide them through the process. I use methods and techniques that best meet my client’s needs. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy to walk clients through life's challenges to a place of peace and more control.
I focus on helping clients identify and understand thoughts, feelings, and actions/behaviors in order to take back some control and better manage their lives. Setting goals can be challenging. I walk through the process with clients, giving them examples of possible goals and how to meet them gradually.
I seek to set a safe and calm environment that allows the client to freely process and express themselves. I include opportunities for play, artist expression, and storytelling as long as clients are interested. My goal is for each client to feel like counseling is their place to be themselves without hesitation or fear.
