I take a client-centered approach to counseling so that there is an open and trusting atmosphere. I am non-judgmental and non-confrontational. I honor my client's autonomy and provide genuine empathy. I combine a Motivation Interviewing style with other counseling intervention methods so that my clients can safety explore their experience and ambivalence.
I am qualified to conduct ASIs (Addiction Severity Index) and CASIs (Comprehensive Addiction Severity Index for Adolescents) - evaluations for court as part of a pre-sentencing investigation. I am also credentialed as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) which allows me to conduct substance use evaluations for individuals under regulation of the Department of Transportation.
