I specialize in treating survivors of abusive and toxic relationships. I provide consultation and education services for anyone needing to learn about abusive relationships. Best suited for the following issues: identifying and navigating toxic relationships, identifying exploitative personality traits, processing narcissistic abuse, adjustment to life transitions, anxiety, depression, codependency and low self-esteem. Culturally competent in treating diverse clients. My style is directive and solution-focused. I aim to help clients make healthy changes that support a life free from abuse.

Emphasis on psychoeducation. Using techniques and approaches from the areas of CBT and Mindfulness. Specializing in behavior change, shifting perceptions, promoting self-care and self-advocacy. Neurobiological conditions affect behavior, perception and emotion. Practicality is employed to address day-to-day life and living in the present.

S.N.A.P.: Survivors in Recovery

Once you've dealt with the toxic/abusive circumstances in your life, what comes next? How do you heal? How do you live a life in recovery from abuse? How do you reduce codependent tendencies? How do you set boundaries? This class will present important information about healing as well as, knowing how to prevent these situations from happening again. This is not group therapy. This is not a support group. However, the process is therapeutic and participants identify others who have had similar experiences.

I refer clients to Erika when it becomes evident that they would benefit from her skills as a trauma specialist. Erika has a way of reaching people who are "stuck" due to complex trauma and/or multi-dual diagnosis related to severe trauma. Erika is also successful when treating individuals who are learning to love themselves. I always feel confident when I refer someone to her including my own clients who are interested in experiencing EMDR therapy.
