Hola! My name is Mammie Ruth Chavira and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). For me, therapy is a place where you are able to be you, to be free of judgment, and most importantly to connect and feel understood with whatever struggles are taking place. My approach in therapy is giving my clients the autonomy to identify their challenges and prioritize their own goals. I approach therapy with a client-centered lens and my focus is always to set a safe place for my clients.
I have found that my experience and passion are working with teenagers and adults who may be struggling with life transitions, societal challenges, and/or trauma. These challenges are often accompanied by stress, depression, and anxiety.
It is an honor to work closely with someone in navigating the underlying causes of these symptoms and in learning ways to cope with such difficulties. My communication style is warm and encouraging. Creating a safe space and accommodating environment in sessions is always my priority.
