In Internal Family Systems (IFS), we call those parts who can seem to get in the way protectors or exiles. These parts may be anxious, depressed, over function, or may hold obsessive compulsive patterns, or have experienced trauma (racially, sexually, emotionally, physically, spiritually).
Our work together will be to get to know all the different parts within - the ones who tend to be easier to connect with and the ones we sometimes try to hide. I am hopeful for journey together and how our work will bring a more integrated sense of self.
