While diagnoses may be helpful for medical treatments, you’re a person with real hopes, dreams, fears, and problems. Listening with respect is the beginning of our relationship, and I engage in “active listening” – asking questions for clarification, and making connections to a person’s past. Together, we’ll identify the issues facing you. Then, we’ll map out a plan to deal with those issues. In this way, I often serve as a life coach in addition to being a therapist.

I work with many common and uncommon issues... testing and treating adults. children and teens with approaches that are specially tailored for them. I've spent years assessing and treating ADHD, depression, anxiety and other problems and have a deep understanding of a variety of approaches to treat them, including medication, nutritional/herbal, and neurofeedback. I help children, teens and adults get through depression, anxiety, relationship and school/work problems, and to move from getting out of a problem to enhancing and finding meaning and engagement in life. Often I work with teens, college students or adults who are experiencing depression, social anxiety, transition, or grief. My clients are often isolated and lacking strong social connections, either by choice or because they feel rejected. For my clients, I try to center my work around logic, common sense and a supportive, trusting relationship.
