As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-C, I enjoy working with all aspects of family life.
Through my systems based training I have learned to incorporate not just the individual sitting with me in our sessions, but also the culture and family that each individual is a part of. I believe that we all are products of our environments and work to understand the influences and resources each individual has available to them.

It is important to regard everyone's life situation as unique and to support the process of personal awareness and growth.
My first intervention is to listen and to learn what the client's issues and goals are. Aside from using EMDR for relaxation and trauma work, I am very behaviorally oriented. That said, given the range of clients and the families I serve, my focus often is a developmental one, recognizing how the client came to be in his/her current situation.

Are you a parent of a child who is struggling? Are you struggling as a parent? Could you use someone to connect with and process male or dad-specific challenges? We can often reach a place where our coping skills and strategies are no longer serving us, whether due to a traumatic event, clinical diagnosis, personal change or stubborn family patterns. If this speaks to you or what you are experiencing, the hope I can offer is that you already have the internal capacity to make meaningful changes that will affect positive outcomes.

Pursuing therapy represents a desire to heal. Whether dealing with a new challenge or an old wound, my work with clients is focused on supporting the process of healing and learning to "let go" of the harmful patterns that get in the way of feeling satisfaction, peace, and fulfillment in our lives and relationships. As a psychotherapist, my goal is to create an environment in which you can pause, reflect, and feel supported in acknowledging the emotions that many of us learn to avoid, dismiss, and push down.

Counseling is a confidential process where you can feel you are in a safe environment where you may talk about the challenges of life and what issues you would like to work on to a trained listener, offering an outside perspective and potential coping skills and solutions.
As a therapist, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which, in a nutshell, involves looking at the way we think and perceive the world around us, examining where that worldview came from and rewriting or changing negative beliefs about that world and ourselves which can lead to our issues. I also use solution/strength approaches and empathetic listening.

My passion for helping others has always been a part of who I am, and that passion has led me to a career in healthcare social work, where I feel truly called to serve individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging earned my Master of Social Work from Western New Mexico University, where I graduated with honors.
Beyond my career, I’m deeply connected to my roots and community. Growing up in the Mississippi Delta taught me the importance of resilience, faith, and showing up for others. Whether I’m supporting a family through grief, connecting a client to vital resources, or advocating for mental health awareness, I do it with heart and intention.
