Our brains can lie to us. They tell us we're unlovable, not good enough, or that we’re stuck for good. When we start to believe those thoughts, they can cloud our decisions, affect how we see ourselves, and hold us back from the life we truly want. You don’t have to stay stuck.

Hello! Thank you for considering me as your psychologist. I am taking new patients for both therapy and psychological evaluations. I am accepting virtual therapy patients in Maine and New York and in-person patients at my office in Blue Hill Maine for therapy and evaluations. I utilize a variety of approaches based on patient needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, exposure-based interventions, solution-focused approaches and trauma-informed treatment. I believe it is important to treat the whole person and not just the diagnosis, so we will also explore factors related to overall well-being.

It is a nightmare: you don’t want to sleep, nor do you want to wake up. You go through the day feeling numb, empty and hopeless. Your world has turned upside down! Losing a loved one or hearing the words “you have a life-threatening illness” makes you want to scream, run away or curl up into a ball. “How can this be happening to me” You yearn for the world you once knew, one that was predictable, familiar and comfortable. You want to embrace the day, not dread it. Is it ever going to be possible to laugh, smile and be you again?

I work with people experiencing the struggles that come from living and growing. Many of my clients are dealing with life transitions, relationship problems, grief, stress, anxiety or trauma. They may have noticed patterns in their life they want to change. All of them want to feel better, to function better, and to understand themselves better. I work with individuals looking for change, as well as couples hoping to transform their relationship. Couples are often feeling stuck, having the same conversations over and over but not feeling heard by each other. Living and loving together is difficult and we need a helping hand.

You’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and starting to wonder if you’re the problem, spoiler alert: you’re not. Life has been asking too much of you for too long, and now you’re stuck in survival mode. Whether you’re navigating trauma, burnout, anxiety, chronic illness, identity struggles, or just the quiet ache of loneliness, you’re not alone. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you, it’s about helping you reclaim your voice, set boundaries that protect your peace, and reconnect with the parts of you that still feel lost.

Current client openings. My clients are often undergoing some sort of transition, often a painful one. This might present as depression, grief, relationship issues, addictive tendencies or existential confusion. Some of my clients work with more chronic issues such as mood disorders or years of systemic oppression. It's natural to want to be rid of the pain, but paradoxically this is where clients and I look for guidanc. To do so, my approach aims to engage in both cognitive and sub-cognitive processes. If we can manage to do it well, change often occurs. Some of my clients prefer to bring nature into this process.

Through the development over time of a trusting relationship between us, depth psychotherapy can provide a sturdy container for deepening your capacity to lean with curiosity into discomfort, difference, and the unknown as it shows up in your life. In Jungian analysis, we bring attention to both present experience and past dynamics, working together to become more connected to the feelings, images, and values that shape your sense of self, inform your symptoms, and tug you towards your own becoming. I draw on relational psychoanalytic training, emotion-focused and mindfulness practices, and somatically engaged Jungian dreamwork.

So many of us feel overwhelmed, lost or disconnected at times and long for a more authentic and purposeful life. I see clients who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, pain, and who are stuck in old patterns. When we have a sacred space to be seen and heard, we learn to see and hear ourselves more deeply. We can learn to trust our ability to regulate and be more present in our bodies and our lives. We can reparent the young parts of ourselves that didn't get their needs met. We can reprocess traumatic memories so that we can relate to the world and people we love with more wholeness, compassion, and belonging.
