Maggie has experience working with all ages from toddlers to adults. She has spent time working in private practice, a community mental health agency and in an inpatient drug and alcohol facility providing counseling and group therapy in the Spokane area. Maggie believes that counseling can be used in a variety of ways to help clients and their families utilize strengths, accomplish goals, gain empowerment, as well as achieve growth and positive change. Maggie views her counselor role as a guide for clients to assist them in accomplishing a positive outcome from treatment.
Her approach to counseling integrates techniques from a variety of theories. Approaches may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), relaxation, psychoeducation, Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), behavioral modification, experiential techniques (e.g. art therapy, play therapy, sand tray), and more.
