Welcome! My name is Selwyn Swanston and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 35 years of experience working in therapeutic settings. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I offer a warm, relaxing, caring, and non-judgmental approach to counseling. This approach fosters trust and motivates my clients to strive to achieve the goals they have in mind for themselves.

Collaborative Health Center is a group practice with 18 clinicians with diverse backgrounds, specialties, training, and interests. We believe in offering an environment that most effectively nurtures growth and healing in our clients. We treat children, adolescents, families, and adults. While our practitioners' trainings are generalized, we have specialties in the areas of anxiety, depression, adolescents, marriage and family therapy, substance abuse, and eating disorders. We work with local dietitians and psychiatrists to support our clients as comprehensively as possible and se welcome collaboration with any practitioner.

I have over 30 years of experience working with children and families. In addition, I am a certified EMDR therapist working with all ages. My career has focused on supporting children, adolescents, and families from diverse backgrounds with issues related to learning difficulties, attachment disorders, sensory integration disorders, adolescent issues and anxiety. As a result I have a wealth of experience in assessment, Autism, ADHD, crisis management, depression, divorce, family and parenting issues, grief and loss, trauma/PTSD, positive behavior support and modification, problem solving, and stress reduction and management.

I enjoy working with people of all ages. Although, most of the individuals I work with are 14 years old to 55 years old, I do work with people who are younger and older. The mix of ages is important to my practice for several reasons. My speciality is family psychotherapy and marriage counseling. Since I am addressing the family, I necessarily will deal with individuals of all ages. I work with relationship issues which may include parenting and discipline issues. In addition, I work with adults and children individually and/or within the family regarding abandonment/separation, depression, and anxiety.
