About

Calling Humans who are narrating their identities and managing social action; Queer adults and teens exploring relationship, creativity, and empowerment; Artists and creatives deepening their creative practice, and exploring themselves through art supplies, movement, sound and/or word; Therapists needing support to continue their work; Students who are finding their way and exploring their passions; Parents who are learning to love themselves and their family in spite of the challenges. We will center the wisdom that you already hold, the resources and joy that you want to amplify, and creatively unpack the challenges that you face.
The connection between our thoughts, embodied responses, emotional experience and behavior can be understood when witnessed and reflected. As a practitioner, I encourage community members to attend to what is alive and what is hidden in the group and the individual's experience. I encourage participants to center joy and resources. We will use art supplies!
Life is practice. Love is practice. Joy is a practice. Perfectionism, comparison, criticism, and judgement are internalized and systemic blockades to connection, spontaneity, and joy. As community members. let's work together to remind ourselves of our humanness, our needs, and our joy. Join one of my therapeutic groups! Reach out for individual therapy!

Magdalena Karlick's Groups

Harvesting from the Heart, 10/18 & 25, 11/1 & 8

Our hearts hold the wisdom of our bodies, souls, and minds. Neuroscience suggests that the mirror neurons in our hearts support humans' ability to be empathic. Over the last few seasons what has your heart experienced? Connection, intimacy, loss, belonging, longing, ache, rupture, or repair? In this 4 week therapeutic art group, we will explore the lessons we have learned from our emotions, the gifts we have received from pain, and make space for honoring the incredible works out hearts have done. We will use art materials, movement, and reflection.

Coming Home: Identity, Narration, & Action

Narrating one's intersection of identities is an evolutionary process in one's life, in our communities, as well as historically. We will creatively explore our self-understanding, the labels that we have inherited, and the strength in our unique experiences and offering. As group members we will deepen our ability to listen to others and to be seen by the group. We will use art supplies, movement, and interpersonal reflection. This group is a 4-week group for individuals who are exploring multiple identities, who may be multi-racial, queer, and / or disabled. 10/26, 11/2, 16, & 30

Hibernation & Letting Go, 11/4 & 18, 12/2 & 9

As we move into winter, our bodies remind us that it is time to rest. We are packing up our harvest, honoring and shelving the work that we have done and getting ready to slow down. We are challenged by the social expectations of holidays that may impede on our personal boundaries and our needs for self-care. How can we enjoy social, familial, and community celebration? What boundaries are important to commit to and communicate? What would you like to let go, or put down during this season? ?This is a 4 week group offered in person or online.
