Therapy can be intimidating and easy to push off due to mounting fear, anxiety, shame, finances, etc. Thus, I want to begin by commending you for taking this step; it is a big one. As a counselor, I walk alongside my client in their journey towards a deeper sense of insight, self-acceptance, self-empowerment, and healing. I approach counseling by meeting each individual/family where they are at, focusing on the here and now, and tying together the past/future/present such that healing can occur. My background is in supporting LGBTQIA+ teens and families, working within complicated family systems, and assisting intrinsic growth.
The intention of my practice is to create a safe-haven while providing a balance of empathy, insight, exploration, attunement, and challenge to distorted beliefs. My work includes the exploration of trauma through EMDR, focusing on patterns within a family system, identifying and challenging negative core beliefs, and the healing of attachment wounds.
