About
Hello and thank you for reaching out! My name is Maddie Bishop and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Lubbock. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I truly believe that each person is an expert in their own lives. I strive to help clients utilize their strengths to create solutions and to relieve burdens and create new possibilities for themselves. I utilize many types of theories including Gottman, narrative, and solutions-focused.
Being a systems therapist, I am able to help clients process multiple needs and concerns through a lens of connectivity. Everything in our lives is connected-life impacts our stress, which impacts our relationships, which then impacts our moods and how we feel about ourselves. This allows for people to break negative cycles and increase attachment.
Counseling can be hard to start but having the right support can make the difference. I challenge my clients in thinking about their concerns in different ways and finding solutions that work best for them. I know talking to someone about concerns can be scary; I provide an empathetic ear to allow for real change to occur.
