My passion, training, and experience centers in helping you and/or your loved one recover from an eating disorder or related issue. Additionally, I have a passion for treating unresolved childhood trauma as well as anxiety and depression. Making peace with your body, with your past, and with your future are goals that I want to help you achieve. I value an approach that involves understanding and honoring the context in which your emotional struggles and mental illnesses develop. It is not your fault that you are struggling and I believe the connections, both person-to-person and in insight can help you heal.

I have specialized training and experience in the treatment of eating disorders to include anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and other specified feeding and eating disorders. I also have training in Trauma-Focused interventions for children, youth, and adults healing from child abuse. I am adept at incorporating expressive therapy techniques as well.

Reaching out may seem intimidating, but my ultimate goal is for you to feel safe and to find hope. If I am not the right fit for your treatment, I am happy to help you find a mental health provider who is so you can find peace and healing.

Mackenzie L Ayers's Groups

Shame Resilience Group for Moms

Based on the work of Brené Brown, join with other women as we aim to: (1) Explore the causes of shame, (2) Learn how to lessen the impact of shame, (3) Develop ways to become resilient to the effects of shame, and (4) Become empowered to feel more connected and supported with our loved ones and larger community. Participation includes handouts, readings, and worksheets created by Brené Brown, as well as group therapy led by a group, family, and individual psychotherapist. This group is 12 weeks, meeting each Tuesday beginning February 4, 2020 and ending April 21st.
