My approach to therapy incorporates both traditional evidence based practices such as (DBT), (CBT),
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and play therapy, as well as alternative strategies including mind-body connections, meditation, breath work, guided imagery, art and music therapy, and journaling.
I believe that successful treatment of children, youth, adults, and families occurs when the treatment approach is client-centered, family-focused, culturally competent, and reliant on evidenced-based treatment modalities. For over 25 years as an LICSW I have worked with a wide range of mental health issues including trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and attachment disorders and how they impact the overall functioning of the client and the family. I have extensive clinical experience working with children and families in a variety of settings including home and school, outpatient clinics, and inpatient adolescent treatment program.
