You may be feeling overwhelmed by stress and anxiety - whether it’s from external demands or internal struggles. Maybe it's social anxiety, "a life transition," or healing from trauma. Or maybe it's something more general, like you want to feel more "in control" of your emotions…and your life. I can help. Together, we’ll uncover the roots of your challenges, empowering you to move forward - with skill and confidence. I use “treatments that work” (CBT, DBT, mindfulness, etc). But we’ll find what works for YOU. Lastly, I don’t just want you to just “feel better.” I want you to live your best life. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

My ideal client is someone who is struggling with physical symptoms as well as anxiety and depression and trying to navigate the world trying to "look OK" when they don't feel that way. I help people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired live their best lives, assertively communicate and follow through with their boundaries, and cope with symptoms that require accommodation without apologies.

As a therapist, I prioritize being a non-judgmental listener. Sitting with me should feel like sitting with a friend or a coach who can help by listening and providing feedback. However, this is your therapy, and you will decide what you're going to do in your life. Showing up is the hardest part, but we can work on the rest together. I will offer feedback that might be challenging at times, but I will always respect your boundaries. At NOCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for OCD. Our deep understanding of its nuances enables us to properly diagnose and treat it.

Some days, your mind just won’t slow down. The anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or low mood that carries into the next day. At some point, it stops feeling temporary. I work with adults dealing with anxiety, OCD, and depression. I also work with Koreans and Asian Americans, navigating the pressure of two cultures and expectations. You don’t need a diagnosis. You just need a starting point.

Life can feel messy, overwhelming, or just plain exhausting. You don't have to figure it out on your own. Whether you're a teen struggling with anxiety, an adult feeling stuck, or a family caught in the same arguments on repeat, therapy can help you make sense of what's happening and find a way forward. I'm an active, direct therapist—not someone who sits quietly and nods. I'll ask thoughtful questions, offer honest feedback, and help you recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we'll build practical tools, deepen self-understanding, and create meaningful change that lasts beyond our sessions.

Hoarding Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?
Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?
The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?
Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
