If you are feeling stuck, I am here to help you navigate the process of getting un-stuck. Maybe you are running into the same problems repeatedly, feeling dissatisfied with life, or dealing with anxiety and depression. So many of the challenges we face comes from the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves. I work with my clients from a trauma-informed lens to reframe and re-author their stories. We work with curiosity to understand the places where pain emerges. We are a team in this process with you, the client as the expert on your life. Together we work to build confidence, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and processing.

It is easy to feel stuck in relationships, personal and professional pursuits and with ourselves. We become frustrated and discouraged when our efforts don't bring us the desired results. How we think, how we feel and what we do can reveal how we are holding ourselves back and what will help us move forward. I would like to help you learn more about the internal obstacles that get in the way of achieving your desired goals and discover how to move through them successfully.

Tristan is a bilingual (English/Spanish) therapist who works with teens, adults, and couples as they address anxiety, depression, life changes, and BIPOC-related issues. It can be tough for one to prioritize themselves in this busy world. Making the decision to attend therapy can be overwhelming and sprinkled with skepticism. How can “talking” help with anything? Previously, as a school clinician, Tristan worked with students to support them through advocacy, encouragement, and resources. Her goal with those children and all clients is to provide the tools so they can navigate tough life circumstances.

Although I enjoy working with both men and women, my graduate training at Smith College, a women's institution, has informed my work and interest in women's psychological health and well-being.
The insight, understanding and perspectives that can be gained through therapy can be invaluable to our sense of well being, personal autonomy, and fulfillment.
Although I have a generalist clinical practice--meaning I work with men and women who come to treatment for a variety of reasons---I have a special interest in treatment issues related to depression, loss, grief, life cycle transitions, and women's mental health. Other areas of interest include: diminished self esteem, abuse--sexual, physical and emotional, alcohol abuse, and issues related to individuals living with a terminally ill family member.

Maybe you’re feeling alone and disconnected from the world, like you have to hide your true self. You’ve forgotten what it’s like to be happy, are in the middle of a major transition, or need to cope with something really painful but are not sure how. You know you want things to be different, and you are ready to take a step toward healing with the support of a therapist who will see, hear, and understand you as a whole person (not just a bunch of symptoms) without judgment.

Worry, stress, grief, and growth seem to be playing out everywhere while so many struggle, too often in isolation. I have years of experience working with adult and teen clients on concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, and relationships, with a focus on navigating life transitions and challenges. No two people experience trauma, stress, anxiety, or depression the same way, and therapy isn't "one size fits all". Everyone has diverse experiences that impact their worldview and perception of self, and everyone's path to healing is unique. We might be a good fit if you're looking for a therapist who understands that and welcomes a collaborative approach to healing!

I care deeply about supporting mothers in the perinatal time period and throughout the parenting journey. Bringing a child into the world is a wonderous thing and can also be deeply challenging. I work with clients to manage this new role of parenthood while also taking care of themselves and honoring the other important non-parent parts of themselves. The intensity of the perinatal time period can sometimes trigger past struggles to resurface or become exacerbated. I work with mothers to navigate challenges in order to lead more fulfilling lives not only for themselves, but also so they can show up as calm and connected parents.

You're a new parent and this isn’t what you expected. You don’t recognize yourself anymore. You’re exhausted and struggling. You were promised “a village” of support; that you would be “glowing”; that these would be some of the happiest moments of your life. But instead, you’re feeling overwhelmed, alone - even angry. You’re juggling so much, and there’s so much pressure. You wonder how you’re possibly going to get through this. Please know, you are not alone. 1 in 7 people who give birth experience depression and/or anxiety during pregnancy or postpartum.

I expect to have room for new clients in September. I am Certified in EMDR, with a strong interest in finding the right therapeutic approach to help individuals and couples become unstuck, find a sense of balance and well-being, and be able to enjoy life. EMDR is one of the powerful therapeutic tools I have to offer that allows people to work through issues in ways that surprise and free them. I work with adults and older adults coping with PTSD, depression and mood disorders, grief, loss, anxiety disorders, life changes and challenges, and relationship issues. These are treatable problems that can get better.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
