interventions are specifically tailored to each client, couple, and family using a psychodynamic and family systems approach in addition to CBT , DBT, and ACT techniques and interventions.
It’s not easy trying to live our best lives, feeling like we're just barely holding it together - striving for peace, healthy relationships, and finding some semblance of balance during these chaotic, unsettling times. The technological world we live in makes disconnection worse - sometimes even causing disassociation and emotional shutdown which can lead to depression, anxiety, disassociation, and even addiction. A world that sometimes lacks human connection, emotion, and empathy, thereby negatively impacting who we are, who we want to be, and most importantly, our relationships with others.

I have practiced art therapy, play therapy and CBT ( cognitive behavioral therapy).
Im ready when you are! Therapy can only be successful when there is solid relationship between the client and the therapist. I believe, building trust, rapport and unconditional care for a client are necessary for success to manifest! We have to be willing and ready to do the messy work. As your therapist, I also have to be ready. I have to be ready and capable of containing all of what comes up in therapy. A little about myself, I go by "Dori", I am part of the LGBT community, latinx and have been doing this work for about 7 years. I graduated Boston College with a masters of clinical social work in 2015.

Familly systems thinking, cognitive theory, problem-solving, EMDR and the principles of brief therapy influence my work.
Over more than 30 years of clinical practice, I have developed skills in working with the core concerns that people face: depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems, life transitions (including adoption) and work issues. Through my life's experiences I have developed a deep understanding and appreciation of the Latino culture, and my fluency in Spanish allows me to work comfortably in that language.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists
Cognitive-behavioral therapy stresses the role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. It is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings. The therapist assists the client in identifying, testing the reality of, and correcting dysfunctional beliefs underlying his or her thinking. The therapist then helps the client modify those thoughts and the behaviors that flow from them. CBT is a structured collaboration between therapist and client and often calls for homework assignments.
