My hope is that you will experience psychotherapy as a
relationship
and partnership in which you feel engaged, empowered, influential and self-aware.
Our lives consist of welcome routines and happy memories, turning points and challenges. Sometimes it is painfully difficult. Perhaps you have experienced the loss of a dream or a loved one, or been unable to move past a traumatic event. Maybe life feels like a daily rut, void of meaning or joy. Even in the company of people who care about us we can feel alone, sad or overwhelmed. The good news is we can find connection, experience change and move through pain and struggle to a place of greater freedom and happiness.

Whether it’s navigating a
relationship
, a career change, a move, a loss, or trauma, transitions can be overwhelming.
Hi I’m Victoria! I’m so glad you’re here! I hope this is the first step in your personal growth journey. Mental Health is such an important part of our lives, and I feel it is the ultimate “self care” as it often leads to more insight, self awareness, and positive changes. The goal is to live with more intention and kindness towards others and most importantly ourselves. There are many reasons why someone may be interested in therapy - all of them are valid.

problems.
Waiting list open for ADULTS and TEENS only at this time. My style is warm, supportive, active, and down to earth with a sense of humor and creativity, which I think comes with working with a mix of kids, teens, and adults. My approach is to collaborate with you on developing skills and strategies to cope more effectively, as well as understand underlying patterns and past events that contribute to your current situation. We all struggle to see our strengths, at times, and therapy is a place to embrace those strengths and utilize them to balance out the unique challenges we face.

Is anxiety or depression preventing you from living a more fulfilling life? Are you feeling overwhelmed by a major transition? Are you unable to move on from an upsetting or traumatic past experience?
I help patients change patterns of behavior that are no longer working, and learn new and more effective ways of coping and engaging with life. I believe that embedded in the painful crises that usually bring individuals and
couples
to therapy, there are also opportunities for self understanding and mastery that can be discovered and realized in a safe healing
relationship

I work with clients ages 12 though mature adulthood on issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal conflict,
relationship
concerns, sexuality, life transitions and loss.
Welcome! I believe that the most successful therapy occurs when a strong clinical rapport is developed between therapist and client(s). To that end, I will work with you (or your teen) to create a warm, therapeutic environment where we can collaboratively determine your needs and goals, and then work together toward achieving those goals. My approach to therapy is eclectic, which means I pull from a number of different theoretical orientations. This allows me the flexibility to tailor the treatment according to your unique needs.

I am not your typical therapist, and strive to always create that emotional connection that allows us to work through any issue as a team. Most of my clients have already tried traditional therapy, and haven't been able to engage in one way or the other. Many of my clients haven't felt heard or understood, and it is a goal of mine to make therapy accessible for all. My belief as a therapist is that everyone can benefit- and should benefit from the
relationship
they have with their therapist. My clients believe in person centered care- and feedback goes both ways. I provide a trauma informed environment where the client gets to lead.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
