I've spent over a decade working in mental health, and in that time I've shown up in some of the most challenging spaces this field has to offer. Instead of treating just symptoms, I prefer to understand the full picture of what people carry, but stories, survival strategies, and the very human ways we cope when life gets hard. But more than any credential or clinical setting, what I most want you to know is this: I genuinely care. Not in a scripted, checkbox kind of way. But in the way where I can sit across from someone in their hardest moment and already see who they're capable of becoming.

I have been a Clinical Social Worker for over 40 years. I bring a lot of passion to my work, and am quite active in the process. I utilize a goal oriented perspective focusing on solutions and growth, while also helping patients/clients develope their own insights and awareness. I like to give feedback to folks, and feel that therapy is a process to help create change. My ideal patient is someone who is motivated to work on their problems, is flexible, has a sense of humor, and knows that the therapist does not have all the answers.

I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety and trauma symptoms that are impacting their life. You might be experiencing constant racing thoughts, low energy, and lack of motivation. Maybe your mood is impacting your relationships or your performance at work. You might be a child who is struggling with irritability, anxiety, or lack of focus. Maybe you are getting in trouble at home or in school. We often focus on “fixing” our symptoms without addressing where the symptoms are coming from. I'm here to help. Together we will explore how to manage your symptoms while addressing the root cause.

My ideal client still chooses to show up regardless of their ambivalence towards their treatment goals. Even if this person is not entirely set on treatment, recovery, whatever it might be, your next steps can decide whether or not that individual returns. If I'm thinking more specifically about my own experience, I think a lot about the individuals I supported who were actively using substances. They could identify the harmful impacts and want recovery but couldn't get through their initial ambivalence. These types of moments and individuals are so important to me.

Life has its ups and downs, and sometimes it helps to talk things through with someone outside your usual circle. I offer a calm, nonjudgmental space where you can share what’s been weighing on you. I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach, and I don’t follow any specific method too rigidly. My style is pretty relaxed, and I let the client set the pace.

I believe that attending to inner experience in the presence of a caring, well-trained, and interested therapist can lead to tangible life improvements. I'd like to work with you to improve your mood, outlook, and relationships. Therapy offers a rich and warm environment to get to know yourself and what it is you would most deeply like to have in your life. Equally importantly, therapy can then help you build the tools and resources (both internal and external) to transform your life.
