Managing your mental health & creating positive change in your life is not easy in today's world. That is why it is so important to find a therapist that understands you & your goals. Over the last 9 years, I have helped families figure out how to fight fair in a solution focused way that helps all parties strengthen their abilities to resolve conflicts & improve communication. I have also helped parents find balance while supporting & raising their children in an everchanging & stressful world. I enjoy helping individuals navigate their way through life & helping them gain a better sense of self and happiness.
My desire to facilitate healthy change in others and myself is what drives my passion for the work I do. My approach to counseling involves a focus on developing coping skills, which I will personally practice with you in session. I utilize techniques involving spirituality and mindfulness in order to develop insight into how your thoughts effect various facets of your life. Being side by side on a journey of self discovery can be an empowering feeling and aid in facilitating truly positive change.
My main goal in this work is to create a space for clients to process and overcome whatever difficulties life has sent their way. I use a diverse treatment method to support clients of all ages to accomplish the goals they have set for themselves and their families. I have worked with clients who have experienced trauma, struggle with substance use, depression, anxiety, and a wide range of other behavioral and emotional difficulties. I believe that with the right tools, we can move through whatever barriers are in our way to living a more fulfilling and genuine life.
Rather than sitting in an office, our work is outside with horses, mini donkeys, and mini goats which creates a different space to work on healing from trauma, managing and decreasing a variety of symptoms like, depression, anxiety, frustration tolerance, relationship conflict, and attentional challenges.
For over 20 years, I have worked children, adolescents and adults in residential, community, home-based, outpatient and outside settings. My passion for helping in partnership with my love of horses led me to equine assisted therapy and equine assisted EMDR. Although I value, respect and utilize a variety of techniques, I find myself astounded by the horses' ability to ground us in the moment and reflect for us what "we need to see". Within this reflection emerges a powerful awareness that can promote new opportunities for insight, understanding and freedom from burdens and traumas previously inaccessible.
Do you feel like an imposter in your own life? Are you constantly criticizing yourself about what you did or didn’t do? Do you prioritize everyone else’s needs instead of your own? Are your relationships beginning to fracture? Know that there is help and hope. You can learn to tame your anxiety, improve your relationships, and find more peace.
Making the first step to ask for help and knowing that you need support is important. I am here to help you find your path towards feeling better and achieving your goals. I work with teens and adults of all ages. In particular I have a passion for working with those who are struggling with trauma and anxiety, or heightened stress. I am EMDR trained and find this modality to be very effective in the treatment of not only trauma/triggers, but general anxiety as well.
Therapy takes place outdoors in the barn or paddocks alongside horses, donkeys, and goats, offering opportunities for growth and healing through interaction and relationship with the animals, learning to listen to your body and feelings in the moment, and experimenting with responding to challenges in new ways. I meet with children, adolescents, and adults who deal with a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress and conflict, school, work, or relationship issues, life transitions, grief and loss, as well as the impact of trauma and are seeking support with navigating stressful life experiences and emotions.

I am a holistic psychotherapist who focuses on a mind, body, spirit perspective. I have a deep well of compassion for people's suffering. Our sorrows and hurt places are actually a call to deeply tend to ourselves and to become bigger and more expansive than what we were.
Do you get into the same circular fights with your spouse or significant other and just can't find your way out? Questioning your relationship in general? Ready to make it work but not sure what to do? I can help.
We often find ourselves acting, feeling and thinking in ways that seem automatic, and no longer under our control. These feelings and actions are familiar, but aren't satisfying and are not working for us anymore. Together we can create other ways to respond to your life that will be more fulfilling.
For over 20 years I've enjoyed helping individuals and the people they love to learn from life's most difficult challenges and evolve into happier, wiser families who can laugh and grow together. I believe that our support systems as well as our inner personal strengths can be our greatest instruments toward well-being. Together, we will work on finding practical solutions in a supportive and caring environment. I tailor treatment to address each client's unique needs, and I maintain a hopeful, positive approach to therapy.
** Not accepting new clients at this time ** I believe there is a lot of pressure in todays world which can create a sense of imbalance in one's life. I strive to help clients to find balance in their lives and feel more fulfilled. I also work with clients to overcome chronic anxiety, depression and move through the stages of grief with the support they need. In my work with families, I have helped couples who are suffering from breakdowns in communication to reconnect and enjoy one another again.
