I believe that the success of therapy is based on the strength of the relationships. I try to create a safe space free of judgement that can allow for that relationship to grow. My hope is that I can help individuals and families explore their understanding and meaning of the problems that they experience. I also hope to give more voice to the values and strengths that run counter to those problems and closer to the preferred path of families and individuals.

Are you a teenager
Together, we can go further. Some days that could mean using CBT to improve your outlook. Other times, we may use DBT skills—if feelings are intense, so you can move from upset to calm. Or we might use narrative therapy to understand your story in a new, empowering way. In short, we'll focus on what works—whatever helps you to feel better...and get better.

For the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse populations in the Merrimack Valley including at-risk youth, life transitions, every day stressors, and trauma.
Life can be overwhelming, and we all need a supportive environment to process, heal, and grow. Like a rose pushing through the cracks, resilience blooms in the face of adversity. My goal is to walk alongside you, offering guidance, insight, and practical tools to help you navigate life's challenges.
I believe that healing begins with connection, and my approach is rooted in relationship-building, trust, and emotional attunement, creating a nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and empowered. Just as a rose needs both sunlight and rain to thrive, growth comes from embracing both our struggles and strengths.

Hello, I'm Wendy. Finding a therapist is often as much about the 'match' as it is about the skill and experience of the clinician. Many times, we seek therapy when things are at a low point, when things are overwhelming and support is needed most. The reasons and goals of therapy are individual, and it's important that they are heard, understood, and respected by the clinician, as the therapeutic relationship is collaborative and built on trust.
With over 20 years of experience in the field of helping others, I have found that trusting, genuine connections are an essential base for change to occur.

I am a LICSW with more than 15 years working with children, teens, adolescents, and adults with social-emotional behavioral disabilities, generalized anxiety, depression, trauma
What you’re going through puts enough stress on the body, so I strive to incorporate humor and enlightenment in each session. For me, as your therapist, prioritizing that over the harder pieces is what makes a difference. By looking at the good and the positives, I find ways to see how the good can help with the negatives.

What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
