Here, you will find sanctuary—a space where you will be seen and gently understood. You will be offered a place to rest, and unload your inner burden, as you journey at your own pace, into the parts of yourself yearning to be explored and healed. In a world that often rushes by, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, lost, or sad, especially for those who view life through a deeply creative and introspective lens. If you’re seeking a space where your thoughts and feelings are not only heard but deeply valued, you've found a welcoming place.

My focus is in working with clients who live in some way that is outside of a typical societal expectation or norm. My style is rooted in the idea of collective liberation, and my clients are most often fellow queer people, conscientious parents and caregivers, those living with chronic illness, survivors of relational and systemic trauma; those with body types, cultural identities, family or relationship structures that are non-normative.

My ideal client is someone who is motivated to live their best life; they may come to me feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, confused or simply aware that they want and/or need to make a change. Together, we will sort through what change needs to be made, what's getting in the way, what supports and resources are available, and we'll formulate goals to help track progress. In the process, we'll work to develop coping skills and strategies to support the process of change, while also identifying the old patterns that are no longer productive.

We all need support at times. We may be ready to dive deep and other times we just need a safe space and someone to listen. My approach to therapy is fluid. I believe that therapy is something we can flow in and out of. The goal is to go out and live your life! I utilize an array of therapeutic modalities that include EMDR, Target 2 Zero, IFS (Internal Family Systems), Cognitive Behavioral and Mindfulness based therapy. I believe mindfulness is a key ingredient to the process of change. I may include Sound healing and or Reiki into a session if you are open to that as part of your healing process.

I became a therapist because I love helping people navigate obstacles that are preventing them from feeling happy, balanced, and fulfilled. The longer I practice, the more I realize that the key to "treat" human conditions is through light, love and compassion. It is truly an honor to do this work every day and to support people on their journey in life.

Over the past 20+ years in the field, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals, some highly motivated to create meaningful change, and others just beginning their journey, feeling uncertain or even hesitant about the process. I don’t believe in having an “ideal client.” Instead, I welcome anyone who is ready to take that first courageous step toward exploration and healing. Whether you are new to therapy or returning to continue your growth, I offer a supportive space where you can move forward at your own pace and in your own way.

I’m an LCSW who takes a warm, relational, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I support clients dealing with anxiety, panic, overwhelm, and burnout as they work toward feeling more balanced and like themselves again. You’re the one everyone counts on at work, at home, in every crisis. The strong one. But lately, it’s too much. Burnout is hitting hard. Even the smallest things feel overwhelming. You’ve done everything “right,” but you still feel like you’re falling apart. You’ve pushed through for so long that burnout feels like your baseline.

United Medical Resources (UMR) Therapists
Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
