Do you find that you can’t stop thinking about events from the past? Do nightmares make the idea of going to sleep stressful? Or maybe you don’t remember your dreams, but you wake up sweaty with a racing heart? Do your friends and family wonder why you’re shut off; don’t want to spend time with them; or do the things you used to enjoy? Maybe you find yourself getting angry a lot more than you used to. Or find yourself thinking that, “If only I’d done such and such, then things would have been different”, or “It’s my fault that something/blank happened”. Or you’re avoiding certain situations, and it’s harder to function effectively.

I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience in health care, trauma-informed care, and perinatal mental health. My practice is grounded in a deep understanding of how identity, early experiences, and structural forces shape the way we show up in our relationships and our lives. Clients I work with are often navigating layered transitions—becoming parents, sustaining demanding careers, managing the invisible labor of caregiving, or re-evaluating what wholeness and fulfillment actually mean.

I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, grief, identity exploration, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are high-functioning professionals, caregivers, immigrants, helpers, or leaders who feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or stuck despite appearing “fine” on the outside. Together, we work to better understand patterns, process emotions, strengthen relationships, and build more grounded and connected ways of moving through life.

I genuinely love helping people to help themselves. I like to help people change perspectives when needed and come out of their comfort zone to make changes needed for personal success. I like to think in psychotherapy sessions the focus is meeting people where they are at in real-time in life and taking it from there. The goal is to help people understand, identify, perhaps implement, and better manage their daily lives and relationships. I enjoy helping people to take control and get the best out of life for themselves and the future.

Deciding to seek out therapy can be difficult and making a connection with the right person even more so. Knowing something about the person you are hoping can help you can make the start of the process easier. I began working in the field at 16 for an afterschool program at an outside placement school, things progressed from there. From then to now I completed a BS in Business and an MEd in Counseling & School Adjustment, I obtained an LCMHC in NH and LMHC in MA. I have worked with individuals, couples and families in many settings including schools, residential programs, detention settings, office settings and in the community.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapists
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
