My energy is warm and friendly, and past clients have appreciated the chance to explore difficult content in a non-judgmental environment. I treat individuals with PTSD and other anxiety and depressive disorders. Additionally, I work with adult adoptees and adoptive parents.

You can't understand why with all the therapy you have done, you still don't feel substantially better. Sometimes you think it's analogous to knowing all about the parts of a bike and how it works, but you are still unable to actually ride the bike. You know all about your depression, anxiety or trauma - but you don't feel better.
I also am an approved assistant teacher and session provider through Somatic Experiencing International.

Now accepting new clients for both individual sessions and the Monday 6:30 PM Trauma Recovery Group. I work with clients who are ready to begin healing—even if they’re unsure what that looks like, or whether it’s truly possible. Many of the people I support have already figured out how to get through the day, but know they’re not really living. They’re tired of being told to wait, to stabilize more, or to put their trauma work on hold. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients, dissociative disorders, and the intersection of trauma and addiction.

In addition to diagnosing things like ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Asperger's, Autism, Mood Disorders and Learning Disabilities (something most school systems are unable to do when testing students who are struggling), I can help kids and adults access the services (e.g., therapeutic, educational, vocational and/or pharmacological) that are most likely to improve the quality of their lives.
Psychological testing is typically billed as 8 to 14 hours, as it includes the scoring and writing time, as well as the one on one time with the client. Most insurance companies will pay for the majority of the testing, if deemed medically necessary (but sometimes not the educational piece).

I primarily work with neurodivergent clients (ASD, ADHD, etc.) and clients who experience anxiety, relationship or peer issues, and many other different life challenges.
My ideal client may be feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or constantly “on edge,” whether due to anxiety, navigating neurodivergence, relationship challenges, or the cumulative stress from being a first responder. You might be used to pushing through, staying in control, or showing up for others, but finding it harder to slow down, process emotions, or feel like yourself outside of those roles. You may be looking for ways to feel calmer, more grounded, and more in control of your thoughts, emotions, and daily life, while also having a space where you don’t have to mask, filter yourself, or carry everything alone.

ADHD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
