Deciding to seek out therapy can be difficult and making a connection with the right person even more so. Knowing something about the person you are hoping can help you can make the start of the process easier. I began working in the field at 16 for an afterschool program at an outside placement school, things progressed from there. From then to now I completed a BS in Business and an MEd in Counseling & School Adjustment, I obtained an LCMHC in NH and LMHC in MA. I have worked with individuals, couples and families in many settings including schools, residential programs, detention settings, office settings and in the community.

In Private Practice since 1980, we work in a highly collaborative, interactive manner which is focused on Problem Definition and Problem Resolution. At Harbor Counseling Associates we get down to business and do the work of fixing what's broken. Addiction/Recovery, Marital Breakdown/Repair and Child/Adolescent/Family Systems Therapy are central to our work but we do much more. Ideally, our clients are bright, high functioning individuals ( we do not see people with major mental illness) who are unhappy about their life condition and are motivated to do something about it. Oppositional Defiance (ODD) Therapists
All children are oppositional from time to time. But their behavior can become incessantly and openly uncooperative such that it stands out relative to other children. Oppositional Defiant Disorder (or sometimes referred to as "ODD") tends to be evidenced by frequent temper tantrums, excessive arguing with adults, the questioning of rules, active defiance and refusal to comply with adult requests. You may also see deliberate attempts to annoy or upset people, blaming of others, being touchy or easily annoyed by others, frequent anger and resentment, mean and hateful talking when upset, a spiteful attitude and revenge seeking.

These therapists can help with oppositional defiance in Plymouth or provide counseling for parents handling an oppositional defiant kid in Plymouth, oppositional defiant teen or oppositional defiant children in Plymouth.
