I specialize in treating anxiety/OCD and insomnia disorders. I also frequently work with depression, ADHD, self-esteem issues, social/relationship issues, school and work stressors, and perfectionism. I work with adults and teenagers, and I particularly enjoy helping young adults navigate life transitions (e.g. high school to college/work, career changes, breakups and new relationships). Additionally, I work with many individuals from a variety of backgrounds for whom a significant source of stress is current events and the political climate. I strive to make therapy a place where anyone can feel free to express themselves honestly.

Life’s challenges can often feel confusing and overwhelming, especially when past experiences continue to affect the present. Many of my clients—whether youth, adults, or families—come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns or worry, self-doubt, or difficulties in relationships. Some are coping with the impact of trauma, while others are struggling to express emotions or communicate effectively with loved ones. Deep down, they're looking for understanding, healing, and the tools to create more stability, balance, and confidence in themselves and their relationships.

Therapy can be a powerful space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most. My approach focuses on the here and now—helping clients notice how their environment and surroundings impact their stress and emotional well-being. I believe that many challenges we face are shaped by internal and external systems, and I support clients in easing excess self-blame while finding clarity and strength in their responses. I use a strength-based, collaborative approach to help people feel more hopeful, grounded, and empowered in their healing process.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when life already feels heavy. Managing daily responsibilities while navigating stress, uncertainty, or emotional discomfort can be exhausting—and it’s not always easy to know where to begin. Reaching out for support is a courageous first step, and it’s one I deeply respect. I specialize in working with adults who are motivated for change, eager to deepen their understanding of themselves and their behaviors, and may be currently navigating mild to moderate life stressors. The journey of self-discovery is vulnerable and I would be honored to assist you in that process.

Hi I'm Henry, a therapist at Mountain View Therapy. Long before I began to work as a therapist, I have believed that narrative has a unique power to help us define both our experience and identity. I graduated with a degree in film and medieval history from Marlboro College, then worked in production and as an actor on independent films, before moving to digital marketing. Eventually I turned to social work. I received my Master of Social Work degree from Boston University in 2022. Before joining Mountain View Therapy, I helped veterans struggling with homelessness, addiction and post-traumatic stress in the Somerville area.

Does this sound familiar? You start talking about something small, like weekend plans or a chore, and somehow it spirals into that same old fight. Before you know it, you're both frustrated, nobody feels heard, and you're wondering how you got here... again. That distance between you keeps growing, and despite loving each other, you can't seem to break the cycle. Whether you're a couple preparing for marriage, navigating midlife challenges, or entering retirement, or an individual seeking clarity during life transitions, you want to move beyond feeling stuck. You're looking for practical tools to create meaningful change.

There is no denying that talking helps. Whether looking for a space to vent, understand behaviors or gain deeper meaning, it all starts with having a place to talk. Relationship problems? Family concerns? Emotional stressors? Fears and anxieties? Depression or aggression? Looking at these things through differing lenses can bring to light what can be hard to see.

Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer – (William S. Burroughs). You are in command and I am only a passenger in your experience. With a pace that you will establish we will participate in talk therapy together and allow ourselves the opportunity to be self-aware. This should be a space that you understand is free of criticism and open enough to explore your life with a slight amount of help from me. Everything about you is allowed in our sessions and I mean that genuinely.

Mental well-being is essential to a healthy life and I am a firm believer that life's challenges are lighter when shared with others. You may be someone who’s always tried to solve things on your own. You’re thoughtful, capable, and people often rely on you—but internally you feel weighed down, anxious, disconnected, or uncertain. You may be exhausted by the patterns you keep repeating. If so, you’re not alone—and therapy can help. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. Many people I work with feel “stuck” despite being introspective and insightful. Together, we’ll slow down, understand what’s actually happening beneath the surface, and help you develop new ways of relating to your emotions and the people you care about.

I am a clinician with over 35 years of experience. When you make your initial appointment you will get the benefit of all the years of experience as well as a very straight forward approach to treatment. I try to listen to you as carefully as possible to both understand what brought you in and what you are seeking to get out of treatment. I have a collaborative approach and I believe that these conversations are the beginnings of change. I was trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy but I incorporate many other approaches such cognitive behavioral therapy, relationship based therapy and solution based therapy.

Male Therapists

As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?

There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?

Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?

Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?

Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
