We’ve all been in a place where we want more and to do better - to truly be the absolute best we can be - but we're TIRED. We seek out guidance from books, podcasts, Instagram personalities, and friends or family . The problem is, just like us, our challenges and development in our personal and professional lives are unique and the guidance we get from those sources is often too generic to get us to A.C.T. (Acknowledge, Control, Transform). Everyone who knows and has worked with me says I’m ‘scary’ good at getting to the bottom of what’s really going on and then helping find just the right way forward so you can be successful.

Each person's needs are assessed to develop an approach which is best suited to the individual. Collaboratively a treatment plan is created, building on strengths. In addition to traditional therapy, a holistic approach is available. Traditional therapy with listening, assessment, support, and presenting an objective view enables positive movement. Integrating many perspectives widens the opportunity for balanced change. Drawing on over twenty years of experience, I counsel adults, adolescents, couples, and provide family therapy .

I utilize many evidence based approaches in my work with individuals including, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Cognitive Restructuring for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, and FBT ( Family Based-Treatment) for Eating Disorders.
It takes courage and self awareness to seek support for your stress, and I'm continually honored by the individuals I serve in my practice for their willingness to open up to me. I strive to create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment that can enhance the process of therapeutic change. All people find themselves "stuck" at times, and through empathy and validation I work to create a path towards hope and healing for my clients.

I draw from strength-based approaches including IFS (Internal Family Systems) to help individuals, couples, parents & teens, & organizations attain more satisfying results.
Everyone has within themselves the resources they need to feel better, function better, and engage in more rewarding relationships. But it doesn't always feel that way. My work is to help you clear the barriers to engaging with your inner strengths. No matter what you're struggling with, I'll help you focus on ways to know yourself better, honor your needs, communicate more productively, navigate conflicts more successfully, and manage times of transition with greater clarity, perspective, and hope. Learn how to better tolerate and even grow from your most unsettled parts as you develop trust and confidence in your inner wisdom.

The ideal client is motivated to continue to work with their inner child to become grounded to the present moment. They may have anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, or they may not be sure what is underlying their experience, which I can help identify as well. The ideal clients are open to trying new methods of healing, including arts and spirituality. They are willing to trust me with their feelings, and express them, whether that is verbally, through the expressive arts, or both.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
