I became a therapist in mid-career, driven by my passion for helping others and my natural ability to connect with people. As a therapist, I use a non-judgmental, strengths-oriented, evidence-based approach. I'll meet you where you're at, get to know you, and we'll work together as a team to identify and achieve your goals. At NOCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for OCD. Our deep understanding of its nuances enables us to properly diagnose and treat it. We have received intensive training in Exposure Response and Prevention Therapy (ERP)—the gold standard treatment for OCD.

As a therapist, I prioritize being a non-judgmental listener. Sitting with me should feel like sitting with a friend or a coach who can help by listening and providing feedback. However, this is your therapy, and you will decide what you're going to do in your life. Showing up is the hardest part, but we can work on the rest together. I will offer feedback that might be challenging at times, but I will always respect your boundaries. At NOCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for OCD. You may be feeling overwhelmed by stress and anxiety - whether it’s from external demands or internal struggles. Maybe it's social anxiety, "a life transition," or healing from trauma. Or maybe it's something more general, like you want to feel more "in control" of your emotions…and your life. I can help. Together, we’ll uncover the roots of your challenges, empowering you to move forward - with skill and confidence. I use “treatments that work” (CBT, DBT, mindfulness, etc). But we’ll find what works for YOU. Lastly, I don’t just want you to just “feel better.” I want you to live your best life. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

I am a life coach and financial therapist focusing on helping people achieve their goals by overcoming limiting beliefs about money and finding their true happiness. Our broad goal––of course––is “the end of unnecessary suffering.” Sound about right? While we all strive for this, I specialize in helping folks with a very-unique kind of suffering: OCD. I can tell you that few people understand the pain and complexity of OCD—(even most therapists). I will listen intently to your unique story. Just know that I can introduce you to an arsenal of tools that can help: mindfulness, ERP (exposure and response prevention) and on and on. Yes, thoughts can be “sticky.” But––with hard work––if (or when) those thoughts come back around…they can be as quiet & as harmless as a yellow post-it.

Fastest way to get in touch with me is to email me! I am now taking new clients! Please note I changed my email address just for clients so I can get back to my clients sooner. My ideal client is someone who has experienced trauma, struggles with depression, anxiety, mood stabilization, grief or substance use, and is tired of carrying the weight alone. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, but they deeply want to heal and live with more peace and purpose. They’re ready to be honest—with themselves and in therapy—and are motivated to grow. What they want is real, lasting change.

Practice Closed: I am NOT able to accept new clients at this time. It takes courage and awareness to reach out for support, and I am glad you are here. I strive for our work together to feel immediately comforting, meaningful, real, and effective in getting to the heart of your core concerns. I work within an integrative framework in a warm and interactive environment and am a DBT and EMDR practitioner. Our relationship matters the most in terms of building trust to achieve goals. On that note, I am a Jewish Therapist. If this is of concern for you, I suggest seeing alternative referrals.

You want a fulfilling life. And I want that for you! Do any of these OCD or anxiety symptoms sound familiar? Repetitive thoughts, ritualized habits, or phobias. Repeating behaviors until it feels "just right." Nervous you'll do something out of character, inappropriate, or accidentally insulting to others. Bullying yourself about the thoughts you have. I can help you navigate the discomfort of worry, panic, rumination, and avoidance, while moving toward balance and emotional freedom. Less anxiety, more YOU!

As the global pandemic has shown us, sometimes life becomes overwhelming and uncontrollable. During these times it may be best to talk with someone outside of your community of family, friends or co-workers. A warm hearted professional to lend a moment of support and guidance. I share with clients in deciding how best to approach the issues, with the intent of addressing both the current distressing symptoms and long-standing patterns of behavior that are getting in the way of a thriving life. My practice is telehealth-based, and I accept direct pay (some prefer for privacy) as well as most PPO plans as an Out of Network provider.

Hoarding Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?
Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?
The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?
Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
