All sessions available in English and Spanish. Through my own and shared life experiences, I have come to know many perspectives throughout the world. Underlying the richness and uniqueness of each culture - racial, ethnic, familial, and all the nuance of what defines us - I have learned there is a common longing: to not only live but to thrive in life; to give and to receive; to have purpose and to know it. Challenges are a given along life’s journey. Contrary to what many believe, to seek help does not make one weak but rather, on some level indicates one is willing and capable of growth and, as needed, of change.

Welcome! I have in-person openings Monday & Thursday evenings in East Boston and virtual openings in MA and CT. My clients often feel stuck in a loop, replaying conversations and wondering what went wrong and why things escalated. They sometimes hold back to avoid conflict, but are left feeling anxious and misunderstood. You may struggle to express yourself to a family member or friend, or feel completely overwhelmed by dating and relationships.

Building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the work I do. Clients often describe my style as warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I bring authenticity and presence to each session, creating a space where people feel comfortable opening up about their struggles and where their strengths can also be recognized. My clients want tools and support to help them access their own sense of inner wisdom and ultimately live their lives with greater clarity, freedom, and ease.

Maybe you are experiencing loss, loneliness, or anxiety, or you don't feel like 'yourself' anymore. I believe that empowerment and healing can come through self-connection, use of more adaptive tools and learning how to approach this sometimes overwhelming world in a way that feels more manageable. I show up for you authentically and drawing from my over twenty years of working with individuals of all ages. During our time together, I hope to provide a space for you to revive your joy, feel whole versus disjointed, and seek to create a balance between challenge and kindness for yourself.

Entering this field a bit later in life, it was not without gaining, and continuing to gain, multiple perspectives associated with trials stemming from family of origin, marital, trauma, secondary trauma, relationship, parenting-to raise/parenting-to-prepare, job-related, adoption/reunification, loss, life transition and elder care issues. I know life's journey to be replete with challenges. I also know it to be rich, adventurous, rewarding. I've learned obstacles are more easily negotiated with support and that becoming our own agent of change is not as elusive as it may often seem.

My therapeutic approach is centered on helping clients gain insight and build motivation for meaningful change. I support individuals in moving away from avoidance and resistance, and instead toward a greater acceptance of their inner emotional experiences. Together, we work to understand how these emotions—often painful or uncomfortable—are natural responses to life’s challenges, and need not stand in the way of personal growth. With this foundation, clients can begin to face difficulties with clarity and strength, and take committed steps toward the life they want to lead.

High-Functioning Anxiety Therapy for Professionals Who Can’t Turn Their Mind Off. You’re successful on the outside—capable, driven, dependable. Others see you as calm, accomplished, and “having it together.” Inside, your mind rarely slows down. You may be a high achiever, executive, entrepreneur, healthcare professional, attorney, academic, or creative leader who is constantly thinking ahead, replaying conversations, or mentally preparing for what could go wrong. You perform well under pressure, yet the pressure never really turns off.

During times of life transitions BIPOC, LGBTQ+ folk interested in healing arts and culture, desiring or needing co-creative sacred space and time to support self-discovery, skills development and personal development often seek to work with me. I am grateful to be able to earn the trust of folk through compassion, curiosity, creativity, and healing-centered relation building. Many people are surprised to find that healing can be gentle, beautiful, and joyful as well as uncomfortable, layered, and at times challenging.

I hold Master's degrees in both Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Special Education, which allows me to offer an integrative therapeutic approach. My background in special education gives me a deep understanding of neurodiversity and how behavior communicates unmet needs. This is complemented by my clinical training, which allows me to work with both conscious experiences and the unconscious processes that shape our behavior and psychological well-being.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
