My work focuses on understanding the developmental nature of the complex social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that cause us stress. I have over 20 years experience in the medical and human service fields and have worked with children and families in many settings from emergency response, acute medical, child welfare, residential treatment, schools, and community-based settings.

I have years of experience treating adults with addiction and mental health disorders, specializing in substance use disorders, anger management, depression/anxiety, grief, interpersonal relationship issues and trauma. I am certified in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and psychological first aid for First Responders.

I have devoted over 20 years to the field of Social Work and enjoy providing clinical services to individuals, couples, adolescents, and families in need. If I have learned one thing over the years working with children and families, is that healing only happens through connection, through a trusting relationship. Therefore, my main goal when working with folks is to establish a relationship where one feels safe, held, listened to, and valued. I once heard that our work is to walk through a dark and scary forest with people, and not to teach them, coach them, to do it on their own. So no matter how dark and scary your forest is right now, my job is to walk through it with you, and support you every step of the way. I am also a native Portuguese speaker, and speak Spanish as well.

Our lives can be difficult and demanding. Sometimes we do not receive the support that we need or would like to have. Life changing circumstances, whether recent or long standing, can result in feelings of anxiety, depression, anger and fatigue affecting your quality of life, your relationships and managing from day to day. When feeling overwhelmed coping can become difficult. I am also a guide and life coach who will assist you on your journey. I will help you to find resolve for your concerns, begin to imagine positive changes that will benefit you and create the life you wish to have.

I have been providing counseling since 2010 helping clients with issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, family communication struggles, and many others. My focus is on helping my clients improve their self care, coping skills, communication, and confidence in themselves.

I have a lot of experience treating children and adults with ADHD and Autism. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is very effective for treating Depression and Anxiety disorders such as OCD, and Social Anxiety.

Our counselors are qualified to write recidivism and substance use/misuse reports for those in need.
