Hi, I'm Jenna! I specialize in treating adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). My clinical work is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for the treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD. ACT supports living well rather than feeling good - meaning that we will focus on adjusting your relationship with your thoughts and feelings through mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based behaviors. You’ve been holding it together for everyone else. You’ve said ‘yes’, even when you wanted to say ‘no', you’ve been the support that everyone else needed. Now you’re feeling overwhelmed, resentful, and unheard. The people-pleasing, perfectionism, and not wanting to disappoint anyone has finally taken its toll. I work with high achieving individuals who look like they have everything figured out but privately struggle with perfectionism and feeling that no matter what they do, it's not good enough.

Women and girls often suffer in silence—let’s change that. You’ve always been the one who holds it all together, outwardly successful, but inwardly struggling. You may be grappling with anxiety, self-doubt, depression, or burnout from the constant pressure to be perfect. Maybe you’re navigating a major life transition: college, adulthood, motherhood, or loss. You want to feel more grounded and less overwhelmed—but you’re not sure where to start. You’re craving a space where you don’t have to explain or minimize what you’re going through—just show up and feel understood.

Do you feel like your past problems, being cheated on, being left, and being emotionally abused have left you depressed and ruined you for love? Do you feel like no matter what you do you will always be alone in a loveless life or worse, you will settle for a person that's not good for you at all? The real problem is that you haven't made the shifts. When you make the shifts you'll have complete control over who you are with, you will walk away from low-quality people, and you will have defeated your inner dark world that brings you back to trash relationships and into that relationship of outstanding sex that's drama free.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
