It's okay if you need healing and a way forward and have no idea of where to start. Maybe you’ve tried individual or couples therapy but it’s been more harmful than helpful because your therapist didn’t understand emotional abuse and toxic relationship dynamics. Applying tools intended for two healthy people doesn’t work when there’s a Narcissist and/or abuse present in the relationship. Working with someone who understands patterns of abuse can help you make the right decision for yourself. I am trained in
Narcissistic
Abuse and High Conflict Divorce Coaching. - I also work with Millennial Women on life transitions (website below)

While we are fully aware of what is happening at the conscious level, we have no idea what information is stored in the unconscious. For the most part, the source of most of our problems is stored in the unconscious. I help patients verbalize and get in touch with their unconscious, leading to a successful treatment. I Work with adults diagnosed with a psychotic mental disorder; highly functional patients, however, under psychotic medications. I also have experience working with individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar, depression, and
narcissistic
personality disorder.

Life is an ongoing process of aligning with our true authentic self. Without that alignment life can feel barren and meaningless. We feel stuck and unable to realize our visions and dreams. Yet, the capacity of the human spirit for creative and intuitive development is truly unlimited. Most of us however, use only a small fraction of that capacity. Through self-reflection and personal exploration we can gain an understanding of what limits this capacity.

Bluestone Behavioral Health seeks to provide the highest quality psychological evaluations. Through psychological evaluation, we are able to provide understanding and answers to guide targeted treatment. Often, courts, schools, employers, or therapists seek evaluations for clients to better understand individual needs and barriers preventing them from moving where they want to be in life. While some may experience anticipation anxiety before undergoing evaluation, often individuals find that working with a psychologist who listens nonjudgmentally and seeks to understand is cathartic and helpful as a bridge to next steps in life.

Everyone has strengths and vulnerabilities that need to be empathically recognized and understood for there to be realistic change. My job is to create a safe place where individuals and couples explore their current or long standing problems in order to find realistic solutions. A significant part of this involves carefully and mutually developing an appreciation of people's actual qualities and circumstances. I work with people in crisis or who sense they have patterns of living that could benefit from a clear understanding and want an expert and experienced partner to help facilitate their desired change.

I am an MGH-Harvard affiliated psychologist with a psychotherapy practice of over 30 years in the South End. I work with adults, young adults, college students and couples. My goal is to ease your distress and help you live the life you want. While my background is in psychodynamic psychotherapy, I believe that each person's needs are unique. Thus, I draw on a wide range of approaches to help resolve troubling issues--self-defeating patterns, paralyzing anxieties, or feelings of dissatisfaction in relationships.

I see individuals, couples, and families. My goal is to provide clients a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship to talk, feel, heal, and change. Life challenges present us with opportunities for new chapters, new growth. Helping you reach your therapy goals is of utmost importance to me. You do not need to be controlled by the past, yet do you often use old behaviors in situations wanting a new response? Are you suffering from depression, anxieties, relationship problems, fears, self-doubts, or "irrational" worries? Together we will explore ways to help you live with more awareness, more freely, and with more energy for your present.

Feel lost, stuck, lonely? Having a hard time coping with a recent trauma? Going through a life transition? Open to a more holistic approach to therapy? Unlike regular talk therapy sessions, which may focus on surface issues and provide short term comfort, my holistic approach dives deeper for longer-term healing. My unique approach addresses the body, mind, and soul as they are all connected in the healing process.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.
How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.
Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.
How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
