Has the compulsive use of pornography gotten in the way of having the connections you want to achieve in your life? Has your relationship been affected by adult content or chronic
infidelity
? Nowadays many people use adult content and can not recognize if they have a problem until it is brought to their attention by a loved one or they may have tried to unsuccessfully limit their use. Many people are simply just trying to escape from depression, anxiety or boredom. You may feel stuck, ashamed and embarrassed keeping this secret. Seeking help is the first step towards wellness.

I am currently offering two groups - one on
infidelity
and one on women's sexual health.
I believe that therapy is the ultimate form of self-care. Life is often hard, but when we are supported and cared for we can grow from our circumstances. Seeking help when we are in pain or confused helps us care about who we are and navigate where our life goes next. Pain in itself can help us see what we need and uncover ways of knowing ourselves better, to make changes that lead to growth. To me, therapy is about exploring feelings, thoughts, and emotions and feeling safe at the same time. I am a safe co-explorer.

I am passionate about helping couples craft deeply nourishing and caring relationships. In our meetings we learn the skills required for loving another person well: good communication, problem solving and repair. We explore what it means for each person to feel loved and cared for and work toward a dance that honors each members unique preferences. I also help couples have important conversations about crafting a mutually satisfying shared vision of what a meaningful life is as romantic partners, parents and community members. We work on healing from painful past ruptures such as
infidelity
, substance use and frequent fighting.

Sadness, depression, grief, anger, anxiety,
betrayal
, confusion, and life, relationship, and work stresses leave us feeling lost and out of balance with ourselves and with others important to us. I have worked for 20+ yrs. with individuals and couples in Maryland and Massachusetts. I actively engage with my clients to bring about new insights, and fresh ways of thinking, feeling and behaving so a re-balance can occur. Together we work to release negative core beliefs and shift dysfunctional patterns resulting in clients' greater clarity, empowerment, peace, and satisfaction. Clients become more connected to themselves and others.

Infidelity Therapists
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
