I became a therapist in mid-career, driven by my passion for helping others and my natural ability to connect with people. As a therapist, I use a non-judgmental, strengths-oriented, evidence-based approach. I'll meet you where you're at, get to know you, and we'll work together as a team to identify and achieve your goals. At NOCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for OCD. Our deep understanding of its nuances enables us to properly diagnose and treat it. We have received intensive training in Exposure Response and Prevention Therapy (ERP)—the gold standard treatment for OCD.

As a therapist, I prioritize being a non-judgmental listener. Sitting with me should feel like sitting with a friend or a coach who can help by listening and providing feedback. However, this is your therapy, and you will decide what you're going to do in your life. Showing up is the hardest part, but we can work on the rest together. I will offer feedback that might be challenging at times, but I will always respect your boundaries. At NOCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for OCD. Being a woman over 30 often comes with invisible pressure—balancing careers, relationships, caregiving, motherhood, changing identities, and the expectations of others, all while trying not to lose yourself in the process. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or questioning what you want next, you’re not alone. I specialize in working with women over 30 who are navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, burnout, self-esteem concerns, and the emotional weight of “holding it all together.”

I am looking to work with people who are not satisfied with how things are in their life, and ready to take control in order for their lives to improve. In addition to actively listening and problem solving, I coach individuals to activate specific techniques designed to be applied throughout their daily lives. It is in the hands of the individual to apply these skills in order to reach their goals. If an individual is not quite there, we'll work together to figure out what's blocking their potential.

You may be feeling overwhelmed by stress and anxiety - whether it’s from external demands or internal struggles. Maybe it's social anxiety, "a life transition," or healing from trauma. Or maybe it's something more general, like you want to feel more "in control" of your emotions…and your life. I can help. Together, we’ll uncover the roots of your challenges, empowering you to move forward - with skill and confidence. I use “treatments that work” (CBT, DBT, mindfulness, etc). But we’ll find what works for YOU. Lastly, I don’t just want you to just “feel better.” I want you to live your best life. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Using compassionate and evidenced-based treatments, I help children, adolescents and adults: stop obsessing about food, their body image, or what they're eating; let go of chronic worrying and find stillness in amidst busy lives; feel more in control by better organizing their time and building routine (less doom scrolling); improve lifestyle behaviors (& lose weight). I also provide parent management training. My style is warm, authentic, and non-judgmental. I find great meaning in the work I do, and I honor the courage it takes for clients to be vulnerable. I also find humor is an invaluable resource.

Hoarding Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?
Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?
The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?
Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
