Gambling or substance use pull you back, even when you’re trying to do better.
I work primarily with men who feel stuck in cycles they’re tired of repeating. Many are dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship strain, or habits they haven’t been able to on their own. Our work is practical and straightforward, focused on understanding what’s driving these patterns and building strategies that actually work.

I work with individuals struggling with substance use, gambling, and other behavioral addictions, along with anxiety, depression, and trauma.
My approach is collaborative, direct, and grounded in real-life change. I help clients understand patterns, build emotional regulation skills, and develop tools that actually work outside of sessions. We focus on both insight and action, so you’re not just talking about things but learning how to respond differently in the moment.

I also have a strong interest in working with individuals struggling with problem gambling, offering structured and supportive interventions to foster change.
Our first session is all about you—your goals, your story, and your hopes for therapy. We'll start by identifying what you want to get out of our work together and how you’ll know when you’re moving in the right direction. For some, that goal might be crystal clear.

At the same time, you may find yourself pulled toward online gambling, alcohol, or other habits that promise relief or control.
Therapy here is focused and practical. We look closely at the anxiety underneath, the mechanics of the cycle, and the specific moments where things tip. From there, we build awareness and structure so you’re not relying on willpower alone.

I enjoy using a blend of therapy approaches tailored to the needs of each of my individual clients. I am a firm believer of meeting a person where they're at while helping them understand themselves and the world around them. Ideally, I like to work with folks who are interested in gaining insight into their challenges while gaining the skill of introspection (looking inward). I work to ensure that my clients come away from each session with a takeaway, a skill, new knowledge, insight or homework to use in between sessions, this way treatment becomes measurable and gives us a chance to see what works best for you.

I specialize in working with adults and the treatment of PTSD (and other stress disorders), anxiety, depression, insomnia, and behavioral addictions (excessive gaming, shopping, gambling, binge eating).
11/18/25- Currently accepting new clients. My approach to therapy is collaborative, goal-driven, and values-oriented. I want to make sure my clients and I are working together, in the same direction, and our pathway is a meaningful one. This often necessitates direct conversations about the nature of our relationship as therapist and client as well as measuring how we are moving towards personalized goals. We will focus on how your personal story has shaped your life, beliefs, and established patterns of behaviors. To reduce suffering and improve meaningful living, we will build space for all emotions and modify unhelpful behaviors.

Gambling Therapists
How do gambling rehabilitation programs work?
There are both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs. However, for some individuals, an outpatient facility may not offer enough hands-on care, and for other individuals, an inpatient facility may be too much. Both types of care have knowledgeable health professionals including physicians (in the case of residential programs), psychologists, counselors, psychotherapists, and recovered mentors.

How do gambling 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Abstinence and maintenance are key for 12-step gambling disorder programs. Individuals in a 12-step group rely on each other for support and accountability. In addition, there is often a spiritual element to these programs, whereby belief in a higher power can help the individual overcome their tendencies. If an individual genuinely wants to cease gambling, attending a 12-step program along with regular psychotherapy can be highly effective.

How long does therapy take for gambling disorder?
Recovering from gambling disorder takes time and effort. There’s no precise timeline for treatment, but a person can see change if they stick with therapy and if they have the will and desire to stop. Treatment for gambling disorder requires honesty in therapy, a commitment to understanding triggers, as well as the development of coping skills. Making lifestyle changes is also important, such as staying away from lotteries, online gambling, and casinos.

Is relapse a problem for those with a gambling disorder?
Gambling disorder is often chronic and can be life-long; therefore relapse may present a problem for some individuals. But effective treatment can bring a person’s life under control. To remain healthy and on track, the individual may need to regularly check in with their support group or psychotherapist. Frequently refreshing their tools of recovery can be helpful.
