Accepting New Clients-Life can feel really overwhelming at times, especially when you are trying to manage the daily grind, while also being present in your personal and professional relationships. When you have a busy and demanding life your personal relationships often take a back burner and it’s hard to deal with problems effectively in the moment. Sometimes it’s easier to numb out or avoid. But, eventually these habits leave you feeling more stressed and disconnected, and problems that once appeared small snowball into larger issues. You can find it difficult to stay regulated in your nervous system to respond how you intended.

As mentioned I treat a wide variety of disorders. For the past several years I have worked with a great many of adults who were raised in some type of dysfunctional family. although they may have learned to cope in their lives there comes a point where this past emotional baggage can no longer be sustained and impacts upon many facets of the clients life. This presents an opportunity for discovery, acceptance and rebuilding of their lives.

I specialize in helping people compassionately navigate their inner world- working through experiences like anxiety, depression, trauma, people pleasing, self worth, identity, relationships, and perfectionism.

You may appear capable and composed on the outside, yet inside feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or quietly unfulfilled. Often the barriers to happiness aren’t loud crises, but subtle aches, emotional fatigue, and a sense that something meaningful is missing. You want relief, clarity, and deeper connection, with yourself and with others. Therapy becomes a place to slow down, breathe, and take an intentional pause so healing can begin.

One of the great promises of therapy is that even when we don’t know exactly what we need or know how to feel better, if we lean in with curiosity and compassion- and stay committed- we can learn to turn toward ourselves and each other with empathy, begin to build healthier relationships, and ride waves of emotions like a pro surfer. I believe we all have the capacity to grow and reach greater levels of understanding along happiness in life. I think the best way to get there is through a meaningful connection that is created in a safe environment where we can express our authentic needs.

Using an integrated approach of family systems therapy, psychodynamic work, EFT, and object relations, I support you in understanding long-held patterns, creating space for insight, and living with a greater sense of alignment and authenticity.
You may feel as if you’re living with an undercurrent—anxiety that hums in the background, patterns you can’t quite break, or relationships that leave you unsettled instead of understood. Perhaps you’re successful on paper yet privately struggling with loneliness, self-doubt, addiction, or the sense that something deeper is asking to be seen. What you want is clarity and emotional steadiness: the ability to move through life with intention rather than old wounds, and to feel more connected to yourself and others.

Emotionally Focused Therapists
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.
Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.
What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.
What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
