We can also use art, writing, movement, music, etc, or nature connection to help process, support, or vision.
So many of us have been cut off from our bodies, creativity, and exploring or expressing our authentic selves. I’m passionate about helping you revive those connections so you can live more of the life you want. Doing that often isn’t easy, but it can be so worth it, and you deserve access to your full aliveness. My goal is to create a space where you can explore your diverse experiences and fully welcome all aspects of your multifaceted self. Whether you're looking to feel more connected and resourced, heal from trauma, shift patterns, or reclaim your voice, creativity, or agency, I'd love to support you.

I meet you where you are in whatever medium makes sense for you, be it music, art, drama, dance, or writing.

They may have anxiety, mood disorders, or personality disorders, or they may not be sure what is underlying their experience, which I can help identify as well. The ideal clients are open to trying new methods of healing, including arts and spirituality. They are willing to trust me with their feelings and express them, whether that is verbally, through the expressive arts, or both.

My aim is to ease emotional burdens and enhance mental well-being. I have experience supporting individuals dealing with addiction, mental health disorders, trauma, and significant stress. I welcome anyone to a safe space where they are recognized as the experts of their own lives.

Art Therapy can offer new perspectives for healing.
Welcome! I offer clinical treatment to people experiencing trauma-related disorders, mood disorders, & issues of identity (race, gender, sexuality, culture). Traumatic experiences have a way of shackling themselves to the body, whether they are accumulated over time or single incidents which compromised our safety. We seek to protect ourselves from a world that failed to protect us, often coping in ways that hurt in the long run. In our work together we will identify sources of pain, the impact they have on your life, & determine ways to reclaim power so that your body becomes a place of safety rather than a site of trauma.

In conjunction with traditional psychotherapeutic frameworks (CBT, DBT, Gestalt, Psychodynamic), I use Expressive Arts Therapy (Movement, Drama, Music/Sound, Art) to help foster a creative process.
The therapy session is a time and space one sets aside to focus on self. To be with self. And to build one’s self. It can be challenging to reflect on patterns, thoughts and emotions, relationships, past events and/or change, but it can also be transformative and rewarding. My role as your therapist is to witness your process and to reflect back with you along the way. The therapeutic relationship is an essential piece of my practice and is built on honesty, trust, empathy, and compassion.

Art Therapy
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.
Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.
How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.
What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
