People come to psychotherapy for a variety of reasons: anxiety, depression , loss, addictions, family crisis, etc. All of these reasons provide us with opportunities to reach inside ourselves and create something new out of our struggles. The goal of all psychotherapy is to foster sustained emotional growth and resolutions to issues that prevent us from enjoying a happy and fulfilled life. At St. Anthony counseling service, we strive to walk with people in their sorrows and the challenges they face in life and to help them find solutions to the issues they wish to work on.

I work with adults needing support with anxiety, depression , parenting/life stressors, career ambivalence, relationship issues, self-esteem, cultural factors, and transition. Is navigating through a life transition or relationship issue bringing up stress, anxiety, insecurities, or impacting your motivation? Is a new obstacle making parenting a challenge? Are cultural expectations affecting your daily functioning, career goals, or desires? By understanding how these triggers can impact symptoms, we can break negative cycles and empower positive change.

My approach is flexible, collaborative and extremely supportive using a strengths based perspective in an empathic and non-judgmental environment–and I have built my practice on these principles (a little humor doesn’t hurt either). Whether you are battling depression , struggling with anxiety, going through a painful loss or need someone to “just listen,” I provide an environment where you feel valued and heard while offering encouragement, support and some objective–yet caring feedback. You have all the tools you need to achieve your goals; my role is to help you rediscover those tools and your own personal gift of insight.

I am a board-certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults and young adults (18+) struggling with anxiety, depression , disordered eating and body image concerns, emotion regulation, and relationship concerns.
One of the most challenging parts of being human is accepting and changing a pattern that no longer serves us. Perhaps an old way of coping or thinking isn’t working anymore, and that feeling of “stuckness” is sinking in. Therapy can help you make these changes; you do not have to navigate it alone. My therapeutic style is collaborative and relational; I believe connection is one of the most powerful agents of change and healing.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
