I am a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts. I provide individual therapy to adults experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship issues, internet/media addiction and trauma. I have a particular interest in the developmental influences on emerging adults (18-25 years old). My theoretical orientation is primarily Humanistic with emphasis on client-centered Rogerian therapy. I also draw heavily from psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, attachment theory and insight-oriented approaches.

I use CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy as useful concepts to best suit your needs in your inner-self discovery.
Sometimes it is difficult to make sense of feelings, learning how to manage them, and being able to find healthy ways to express your inner self. Therapy is a safe space and confidential process that through time, consistency and work together will allow you to identify and develop a healthy voice to express difficult feelings. Connection and Bonding in therapy promote resiliency, stimulating and feeding the mind. Feeling heard, being seeing, feeling that we have a purpose in life is a vital, indispensable healing and nurturing process of psychotherapy.

Hello and welcome. For over 22 years I have had the honor of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds on issues that are impacting their lives. I approach treatment through a collaborative framework, recognizing that you are the expert of your life experience, and that my role is to accompany you through insightful exploration to help increase self awareness, reach your goals, and bring about lasting change. While I take my work seriously, I believe that incorporating humor and being authentic is integral to building a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship.

Though I am trained in both psychodynamic therapy and CBT, treatment is highly individualized and based upon patient needs.
How might one live? That's the question we all wake up to, each morning. Whether we have the time to think about it or not. That being said, are you satisfied with your current path? Or do you want something different? Something more? Psychotherapy is a great place to explore this and other questions.

Entering therapy is a bold, brave step. Most people who have been struggling have tried everything they know to feel better. Asking for support from a therapist marks a turning point. I offer clients my clinical judgment and attention that is rooted in a blend of Psychodynamic , Relational-Cultural and Mindfulness theories as well as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I integrate these concepts into our work in clear, understandable and practical ways. My clients tell me that they appreciate my real and authentic presence; my gentle, direct and honest feedback; and my engaging and interactive way of talking with them.

I mainly use CBT and my approach is also informed by family systems, psychodynamic theory, and elements of narrative therapy.
With the ever-expanding responsibilities of living and working, it can be easy to fall into a pattern of going through the motions and merely surviving, rather than thriving. We will collaborate to identify and express your individual needs, and work together to leverage your unique strengths and perspectives into development and fulfillment.

I have advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy working with adults from all different backgrounds.
The decision to begin psychotherapy takes courage, strength, and openness to the process. When one is ready to understand themselves in a more authentic way, it can be a powerful transition. I tailor my psychotherapeutic approach to each person as an individual allowing them the opportunity to learn about themselves and their interpersonal world in a safe space. At times, when one is feeling stuck, misunderstood, and/or in deep emotional pain the therapeutic process can allow for meaningful exploration of long standing repetitive patterns. Of course, such a journey to understanding complex thoughts and feelings can be difficult.

My approach is guided by psychodynamic principles, real-world problem solving, and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I am a board-certified, Harvard-trained psychiatrist, and I help people with a wide range of problems, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, and psychosis. I combine medication management and psychotherapy in my practice. If you’re open to medication, we’ll work hard to find something that eases your pain. But the brain doesn't work in a vacuum--our experiences affect our neurochemicals, and psychotherapy actually changes the brain.

My approach is integrative and informed by psychodynamic , attachment, cognitive behavioral, and relational therapies.
In today’s world, it is understandable that stress and anxiety levels are higher than ever before. I specialize in treating adults with stress, anxiety, perfectionism, sadness, self-doubt, and relationship issues, and I particularly enjoy working with college students, young working professionals, and parents who feel overwhelmed, isolated, and burnt out. I work collaboratively with clients to accomplish their goals as they adjust to life and role transitions, explore aspects of their personal identity, and build confidence in their ability to cope with stressors and uncomfortable emotions as they arise.

Depending on the client's presenting issue, my treatment approach varies from concrete problem solving, using mindfulness, or on working to recognize and speak for one's parts following the Internal Family Systems, (IFS), model, EMDR, Hypnosis and/or psychodynamic approaches.
In my practice, by face to face sessions or by using online confidential therapy, I work with clients to feel comfortable and to form a bond, based on trust, that will foster a relaxed positive therapeutic interaction. It is important to me that, from the very first session, the client can communicate his or her story and feels heard, so that I can understand the presenting issues, communicate hope, and formulate mutually agreeable goals to achieve in our work together.

My approach is warm and collaborative using various evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Psychodynamic , and The Gottman Method to provide a safe space for growth and change.
*Practice Currently Full* Life can feel really overwhelming at times, especially when you are trying to manage the daily grind, while also being present in your personal and professional relationships. When you have a busy and demanding life your personal relationships often take a back burner and it’s hard to deal with problems effectively in the moment. Sometimes it’s easier to numb out with unhealthy habits like over drinking, over or undereating, scrolling social media, or overworking. But, eventually these habits leave you feeling more stressed and disconnected, and problems that once appeared small snowball into larger issues.

If you or your family members are experiencing depression, anxiety or relationship issues, whether from a painful or traumatic history or more recent difficulties, I would like to help. Through talking we begin to understand, become less alone with our pain, and build a bridge to recovery. I welcome working with adults from diverse backgrounds, from various cultures and at different points in their healing process. My method is to blend the more traditional psychodynamic approach with concrete strategies. The tools I use are mostly derived from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems Model (IFS), and EMDR.

In my experience, each person is driven by a deep longing for something better: to get along better with family, coworkers or friends; to sharpen & hone their personal effectiveness, creativity or success; to act & live more meaningfully; to have relief from worries, anger or sadness; to be seen & appreciated as they are rather than what they are expected to be. Helping people tangibly grow closer to fulfilling their aspiration is my work. My approach & background combine psychodynamic /attachment lens to understand the deepest & often, unconscious motivations that drive people (I am a psychoanalyst); somatic awareness & embodied

I work in a way that incorporates CBT, mindfulness, and psychodynamic approaches.
Finding the right therapist is important and it is a courageous step to reach out for help. I approach therapy in a warm, relational way and believe that supportive, non-judgmental responses are crucial to creating a safe and trusting space. I invite you to come as you are, into a space of acceptance and compassion, in order to learn about yourself and grow. Many of the experiences I help people with are related to anxiety, depression, important life or identity transitions, self-esteem, and promoting personal growth and healing.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Psychodynamic therapy, also known as insight-oriented therapy, evolved from Freudian psychoanalysis. Like adherents of psychoanalysis, psychodynamic therapists believe that bringing the unconscious into conscious awareness promotes insight and resolves conflict. But psychodynamic therapy is briefer and less intensive than psychoanalysis and also focuses on the relationship between the therapist and the client, as a way to learn about how the client relates to everyone in their life.
