I especially enjoy working with young adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression , and relationship/family stress.
When faced with life’s unavoidable stressors, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. The struggles of day to day life can often leave individuals feeling frustrated, hopeless, and powerless to work towards change. I enjoy helping clients feel understood and overcome fears that have been preventing them from living life to its fullest. Sometimes simply knowing that the worst case scenario won’t destroy us makes a daunting goal seem more attainable.

I’ve helped people who struggled with controlling their fear, anger, guilt, shame, mood swings, anxiety, depression , compulsion and addictions.
Does life ever feel like a maze, with a dead end around every corner? Does it ever feel like the more you try to untangle the threads of your mind, the tighter the knots become? I compare my role as therapist to be a guide, someone who listens carefully and guides you through your unique maze, pointing out potential pitfalls and celebrating scenic views. I offer a calm space to allow you to open up, process your experiences, and take steps forward. For years I’ve worked with people who wrestled with grief over various losses such as death, divorce, chronic illness, unemployment and estranged relationships.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
